Falling Apart

The Buddha explains the reality of the body and it's impermanence.

This discourse was taught by the Blessed One, taught by the Arahant, the fully enlightened Supreme Buddha. This is as I heard:

“Monks, this body falls apart; consciousness is like something to be detached; all defiled kamma is impermanent, suffering, and subject to change.”

This is the meaning of what the Blessed One said. So, with regard to this, it was said:

Realizing the body as falling apart, and consciousness as something that must be detached, and seeing the danger of defiled kamma, the liberated one has gone beyond birth and death. Having reached supreme peace, one with a well cultivated mind awaits the time for ultimate freedom at passing away.

This, too, is the meaning of what was said by the Blessed One. This is exactly as I heard.
