The Verses of Arahant Dhaniya (228-230)

228. A monk who wishes to improve his monk life and wants to live happily should not despise the robes, food, and drink given to the community of monks.

229. A monk who wishes to improve his monk life and wants to live happily should use a shelter with the idea of temporary use, just like a snake slithers into a mouse’s hole.

230. A monk who wishes to improve his monk life and wants to live happily should be content with whatever is given. The single best quality should be cultivated: Diligent practice of the Dhamma.

These verses were said by Arahant Dhaniya.
