The Verses of Arahant Sambhūta (291-294)

291. The fool hurries when it is time to be patient, and he is patient when it is time to hurry. Having followed the wrong way, he finally comes to pain.

292. His success declines like the moon in the dark fortnight. He acquires disgrace. His friends act against him.

293. The wise one is patient when it is time to be patient, and he hurries when it is time to hurry. Having followed the right way, he finally comes to happiness.

294. His success increases like the moon in the bright fortnight. He acquires fame. His good friends don’t act against him.

These verses were said by Arahant Sambhūta.
