The Sun 1

Right View comes first.

“Monks, the dawn is the forerunner and the sign of sunrise.

“In the same way, right view is the forerunner and the sign of truly comprehending the Four Noble Truths. Monks, a monk with right view can expect to truly understand: ‘This is suffering’ … ‘This is the origin of suffering’ … ‘This is the cessation of suffering’ … ‘This is the path that leads to the cessation of suffering’.

“Therefore, monks, you should make an effort to understand: ‘This is suffering.’ You should make an effort to understand: ‘This is the origin of suffering.’ You should make an effort to understand: ‘This is the cessation of suffering.’ You should make an effort to understand: ‘This is the path that leads to the cessation of suffering.’”
