The Verses of Arahant Sappaka (307-310)

307. That crane’s wings have the colour of a white lotus. She was terrified by fear of the black cloud. When she flees seeking a shelter, this river Ajakaraṇī delights my heart.

308. That crane’s body has the colour of a white lotus. She was terrified of the black cloud. She doesn’t have a place to hide. When she flees looking for a hiding place, this river Ajakarani delights my heart.

309. There are rose-apple trees on the two banks of the river. Who wouldn’t be delighted by these trees? The rose apple trees behind my cave beautify the whole area.

310. Frogs make noises bravely. Maybe it is because they have escaped from snakes. This time of year, the rivers in the mountain are overflowing their banks. The river Ajakarani, is safe, pleasant and delightful.
