The Verses of Arahant Tekicchakāni (381-386)

381. [Māra:] The rice is harvested and the store is full. But I don’t get any alms. How shall I farm?

382. [Tekicchakāni:] With a confident mind, recollect the Supreme Buddha who has immeasurable qualities. Always live with a body that is filled and spread with joy and rapture.

383. With a confident mind, recollect the Supreme Dhamma that has immeasurable qualities. Always live with a body that is filled and spread with joy and rapture.

384. With a confident mind, recollect the Supreme Saṅgha that has immeasurable qualities. Always live with a body that is filled and spread with joy and rapture.

385. [Māra:] This is a cold winter night. You are outside. Do not perish disturbed by the cold. Go into a hut with all the windows and doors closed.

386. [Tekicchakāni:] I radiate thoughts of the Four Divine Abidings. I live experiencing happiness born of that meditation. I shall not perish because of the cold. I live without defilements.

These verses were said by Arahant Tekicchakāni.
