UdānaUd 5.7 Revata Sutta
The Arahant Revata

The virtues of Kankhā Revata Arahant

This is as I heard from the Blessed One. Those days, the Blessed One was living in the province of Sāvatthī at Jeta’s Grove, in Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery. At that time, Venerable Kankhā Revata was sitting not far from the Blessed One, his legs crossed, his body upright, reflecting on the purity of his mind free from doubts with wise consideration. The Blessed One saw Venerable Kankhā Revata sitting not far away, his legs crossed, his body upright, reflecting on the purity of his arahantship with wise consideration.

Then, on realizing the bliss of Nibbāna, the Blessed One on that occasion exclaimed:

“Whatever doubts,
about this world or the world after,
about his or others’ belongings,
all that is abandoned by the sage
who is diligent, meditative, and keen
in destroying defilements.”
