SN 11.8 Verocana Asurinda Sutta
Verocana Lord of the Titans

God Sakka and Verocana recite verses in front of the Buddha.

At Sāvatthi, in Jeta’s park. At that time, the Blessed was sitting in meditation where he would spend the day. Then Sakka, lord of the gods, and Verocana, lord of the titans, went to the Blessed One and stood at opposite door posts. Then Verocana, lord of the titans, recited this verse in the presence of the Blessed One:

“A man should strive hard until his well-being has been achieved. One shines due to the achievement of his well-being: This is the word of Verocana.”

God Sakka:

“A man should strive hard until his well-being has been achieved. One shines due to the achievement of his well-being. There is nothing better than patience.”

Verocana:

“All beings achieve success here or there accordingly. All creatures live together considering that living together is supreme. One shines due to the achievement of his well-being: This is the word of Verocana.”

God Sakka:

“All beings achieve success here or there accordingly. All creatures live together considering that living together is supreme. One shines due to the achievement of his well-being. There is nothing better than patience.”
