The Verses of Arahant Kosiya (370-374)

370. Truly, one should know the good Dhamma teacher’s instructions. That wise person is obedient to the teacher’s words. He has love and affection towards his teachers. He is indeed devoted and clever. He is an advanced person who has understood the Dhamma.

371. Without getting disturbed by any type of problem, he endures them patiently. He indeed is very strong and clever. He is an advanced person who has understood the Dhamma.

372. Freed from defilements, he is like a great ocean. He has profound wisdom. He can even understand very subtle meanings. Defilements can’t challenge his purity. He is wise. He is an advanced person who has understood the Dhamma.

373. He has listened to a great deal of Dhamma. He has retained the Dhamma in his mind. He practices the Dhamma in accordance with the teaching. He is indeed equal to teachers. He is wise. He is an advanced person who has understood the Dhamma.

374. He understands the meaning of the Dhamma. Having understood, he acts accordingly. Truly he has attained the goal. He is wise. He is an advanced person who has understood the Dhamma.

These verses were said by Arahant Kosiya.
